J.M. Reynolds Oil Company, Inc. had early beginnings as a Standard Oil of Indiana Jobber in Wabash Indiana, distributing gasoline and diesel fuel to the community of Wabash. Consistent growth and expansion through four generations of the Reynolds family allows J.M. Reynolds Oil Company to deliver the unmatched customer service of a family business with the knowledge and capacity of an industry leader to provide all your fuel and lubricant needs.

Our History

Reynolds Family Joins Petroleum Industry

Founder James M. Reynolds began his life in the petroleum industry with Standard Oil of Indiana after returning to Wabash at the end of World War II in the summer of 1946.

1946

J.M. Reynolds Oil Company Incorporated

J.M. Reynolds Oil Company was Incorporated in the State of Indiana in October of 1975.

1975

Second Generation Leadership

Founder James M. Reynolds’ son Ron Reynolds joins the company as the 2nd generation of J.M. Reynolds Oil Company leadership.

1976

Addition of Propane Delivery

J.M Reynolds Oil Company expands into propane delivery business with the installation of a 18,000 gallon propane tank in downtown Wabash.

1979

First Lubricant Warehouse

Construction of first lubricant warehouse near 305 S. Huntington Street in Wabash.

1980

Full-Service Fuel Island

Addition of J.M. Reynolds Oil Company retail full-service fuel Island at the corner of Canal Street and Huntington Street in Wabash.

1982

Standard Oil of Indiana Becomes Amoco

Standard Oil of Indiana becomes Amoco. J.M. Reynolds continued its Jobber relationship as an Amoco fuel and lubricant Jobber.

1985

Specialty Cutting Fluids and Coolants

J.M. Reynolds Oil Company adds specialty cutting fluids and coolants by becoming a distributor of Fuchs Lubricants, thus expanding its lubricant line into industrial lubricants.

1989

Third Generation Leadership

Ron Reynolds’ son Jim Reynolds joins J.M. Reynolds Oil Company as the third generation of leadership along with Jim’s brother Chris Reynolds.

1997

John Deere Bulk Lubricants

J.M. Reynolds Oil Company becomes the exclusive delivery partner for John Deere Bulk Lubricants for Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan.

1998

Small Business Of The Year

J.M. Reynolds Oil Company named as Wabash Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2002 Small Business of the Year.

2002

New Lubricant Storage and Loading Facility

Construction of lubricant storage and loading facility on the 1-acre site located near 395 S. Huntington Street Wabash, IN.

2008

Fourth Generation Leadership

Jim Reynolds’ nephew Dylan Reynolds joins as fourth generation of J.M. Reynolds Oil Company leadership.

2010

Propane Expansion

Expansion of propane storage at Wedcor Industrial Park with the continual addition of 18,000 gallon propane tanks eventually expanding to over 100,000 gallons of propane storage.

2012

New Gasoline and Diesel Fuel Facility

Construction of nearly 100,000 gallon gasoline and diesel fuel storage and loading facility at 305 Wedcor Avenue property in Wabash.

2018

Business of the Year

J.M. Reynolds Oil Company celebrated as 2018 Grow Wabash County Business of the Year.

2018

New Propane Facility

Construction of a 65,000 gallon propane storage and loading facility to service J.M. Reynolds Oil Company’s southern Wabash, Miami, and Grant County propane customers on 500 S in Wabash County.
